Google Unveils New Gradient G Logo in First Major Redesign in a Decade

Google is rolling out a new gradient “G” as its company-wide logo, the company announced Monday. The refreshed design first appeared in the Google app for Android and iOS back in May, but it will soon expand across all of Google’s platforms — marking the company’s first major logo update in 10 years.

The old “G,” introduced in 2015, featured distinct blocks of red, yellow, green, and blue. The new version blends those colors together in a brighter gradient, aligning more closely with the design language of Google’s Gemini logo. According to the company, the shift reflects its “evolution in the AI era.”

In addition to the updated “G,” Google has quietly refreshed the Google Home logo to match the new aesthetic. The gradient look will begin rolling out to other Google apps in the coming months, meaning users can expect to see it soon in Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, and beyond
